Getting Started

How do I rent a trailer?

Download the Moovalot app (iOS or Android), create a free account, and find an available trailer near you on the map. Drive to the location, scan the QR code on the hitch lock, and it releases instantly. No counter, no paperwork, no wait.

What do I need to rent?

A smartphone with the Moovalot app, a vehicle with a standard 2" ball hitch, and a valid driver's license. You'll also need a credit or debit card to complete checkout in the app.

Do I need a reservation?

No reservation needed. Trailers are available 24/7 on a first-come, first-served basis. Open the app, see what's available near you, and go.

Pricing & Billing

How much does it cost?

Rates start at $14/hr for an open trailer or $16/hr for an enclosed trailer — the longer you rent, the lower the hourly rate. Billing is in 15-minute increments, so you only pay for the time you actually use. Full-day rates are also available. See current rates on our pricing page or in the app.

When will I be charged?

Your card is charged when you end the rental in the app. You'll see the final charge based on how long you used the trailer. A pre-authorization hold may appear before the rental is complete.

Can I get a receipt?

Yes. A receipt is automatically emailed to you after each rental is completed. You can also view your rental history in the app.

Equipment

What size are the trailers?

Our open utility trailers are 5×8 feet with a 3,500 lb capacity. They include a ramp gate for easy loading, safety chains, DOT-approved lights, and a standard 2" ball coupler. Enclosed trailers are available at select locations.

Does my car have a hitch?

Many trucks, SUVs, and larger cars come with factory hitches or have hitches installed aftermarket. You need a standard 2" ball to tow a Moovalot trailer. If you're not sure, check your vehicle's owner's manual or look under the rear bumper.

What if the trailer is damaged when I pick it up?

Document the damage with photos before you hitch up and contact us immediately at support@moovalot.com or (800) 617-9637. Do not rent a trailer that appears unsafe or has structural damage.

Returns & Issues

Where do I return the trailer?

Return it to the same location you picked it up from. Back it into the designated spot, lock the hitch lock, and end the rental in the app. You'll receive a confirmation and receipt by email.

What if I have trouble with the lock or app?
